Method
Soak the dal with red chilies in water for 2 hours.
Drain and grind to stiff, coarse paste.
Add rest of the ingredients except the oil.
Take 4 round lumps and flatten to � cm thick discs.
Deep fry in moderately hot oil till golden brown.
Serve hot with chutney
