Elaichi cake

Method
  1. Beat the unsalted butter with the powered sugar and ΒΌ tsp. salt.
  2. Add the egg and beat well.
  3. Sift 2 cups flour together with ground cardamom and baking soda.
  4. Add the flour to the butter mixture alternately with the sour cream.
  5. Ad enough buttermilk (about half cup) to make a soft dropping consistency.
  6. Bake in two greased and floured 6-inch ring moulds for about 20-25 mins at 180 deg C.
  7. Turn out onto a wire rack.
  8. Serve with a dusting of icing sugar.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, well beaten
2 cups flour
1&1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup buttermilk
A pinch of icing sugar for dusting
