Method
- Beat the unsalted butter with the powered sugar and ΒΌ tsp. salt.
- Add the egg and beat well.
- Sift 2 cups flour together with ground cardamom and baking soda.
- Add the flour to the butter mixture alternately with the sour cream.
- Ad enough buttermilk (about half cup) to make a soft dropping consistency.
- Bake in two greased and floured 6-inch ring moulds for about 20-25 mins at 180 deg C.
- Turn out onto a wire rack.
- Serve with a dusting of icing sugar.

1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup powdered sugar

1 egg, well beaten
2 cups flour
1&1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup buttermilk
A pinch of icing sugar for dusting
