Potato Bondas

Method
  1. Mix all the ingredients of the bonda batter along with water to make a fine paste.
  2. Mash the boiled potatoes with turmeric powder, salt, green chillies, coriander leaves and chaat masala.
  3. Heat a little oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds.
  4. Once it splutters, add the rest of the seasoning. Once it turns brown in a few seconds, add the potato masala and fry for a few minutes.
  5. Take out the masala and keep aside. After it cools, shape it into small balls and keep aside.
  6. Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying.
  7. Dip the potato masala into the bonda batter and deep fry in the oil for a few minutes.
  8. Once it is fried, take it out of the oil.
  9. Drain the excess oil by blotting it with a tissue paper and serve hot with mint chutney.
Ingredients:
5-6 medium size potatoes, boiled
A pinch of turmeric powder
Green chillies finely chopped
Coriander leaves finely chopped
A pinch of chaat masala
Salt to taste

Seasoning:
1 tsp oil
Mustard seeds
Urad dal

For the bonda batter:
One and half cups of Gram flour
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 pinch sodium bicarbonate
One cup water
Salt to taste
