Curried Turai with dumplings
MethodFor the dumplings:
- Take 100g besan flour, add salt and spices as per taste.
- Knead into dough and make small balls/dumplings
For the curry:
- Peel and cut turai into cubes
- Heat oil in the pan, add cumin seeds
- Make puree of the tomato
- When the cumin seeds start crackling, add tomato puree, salt and spices.
- When the gravy is boiling, chopped turai, coriander leaves and mix well.
- Add 1 cup of water and the dumplings; cook till turai is tender.
- Eat with rice or roti.
Ingredients:
250g - turai
100g - besan flour
1 - tomato
1 tsp - cumin seed
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
1/2 tsp - red chilli powder
1 tsp - coriander powder
1 tbsp - oil for cooking
1 cup - coriander leaves
