Method
  1. Wash the mango, cut them into small pieces.
  2. Pressure cook the toor dal after washing thoroughly and keep aside.
  3. In a wok add oil and season the mustard seeds and gram dal.
  4. Add slit green chillies and curry leaves.
  5. Add turmeric powder and the sliced (small) raw mango and saute for 3 minutes till the mango turns soft.
  6. Add little water and simmer for a minute.
  7. Then add the pressure cooked toor dal and cook in medium fire for 8 minutes.
  8. Add salt and simmer for one minute.
  9. The mango paruupu is now ready.
  10. Serve it hot with steamed rice or phulkas.
  11. This makes a lovely summer dish.
Ingredients:
1 - raw mango
50 g - toor dal
4 - green chillies
1/4 cup - curry leaves
1 tsp - mustard seeds
1 tsp - gram dal
1 tbsp - sunflower oil
1 tsp - turmeric powder
salt to taste
