Method
- Wash the mango, cut them into small pieces.
- Pressure cook the toor dal after washing thoroughly and keep aside.
- In a wok add oil and season the mustard seeds and gram dal.
- Add slit green chillies and curry leaves.
- Add turmeric powder and the sliced (small) raw mango and saute for 3 minutes till the mango turns soft.
- Add little water and simmer for a minute.
- Then add the pressure cooked toor dal and cook in medium fire for 8 minutes.
- Add salt and simmer for one minute.
- The mango paruupu is now ready.
- Serve it hot with steamed rice or phulkas.
- This makes a lovely summer dish.

1 - raw mango
50 g - toor dal
4 - green chillies
1/4 cup - curry leaves
1 tsp - mustard seeds
1 tsp - gram dal
1 tbsp - sunflower oil
1 tsp - turmeric powder
salt to taste
