Method
  1. Soak the dals for 4-5 hours.
  2. Then grind them finely and beat well.
  3. Add salt, turmeric, ground ginger and green chillies.
  4. Steam the dough as for dhoklas.
  5. Then break it into small pieces with fingers.
  6. Heat 2 tbsps. oil and fry mustard seeds and cummin seeds, asafoetida, chilli powder and curry leaves.
  7. Add the broken dal pieces into it and cook well.
  8. When ready, add the sugar and lime juice and remove.
  9. Add chopped coriander and ground coconut before serving.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup chana dal
1/2 cup moong dal
1/2 piece of ginger
1/4 grated coconut
4 green chillies
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. cummin seeds
A pinch of asafoetida
1/2 cup scraped coconut
A few curry and coriander leaves
Oil as needed
1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
1 tsp. red chilli powder
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt to taste
