Tomato Onion Chutney

Method
  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add the onions and saut� until soft and tender.
  2. Add the chopped tomatoes, green chilli, asafoetida and turmeric powder.
  3. Saut� until the tomatoes are nice, soft and almost all the water has evaporated.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool and grind into a smooth paste.
  5. Heat oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Allow it to crackle.
  6. Add the seasoning to the ground tomato onion paste. Add salt to taste and mix well.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Ingredients:
To be Ground to Paste:
2 cups - chopped tomatoes
� cup - small onions or � cup chopped regular onions
1 - green chilly
� tsp - asafetida
� tsp - turmeric powder
1 tbsp - sesame oil/vegetable oil/sunflower oil

For Seasoning:
1 tsp - sesame oil/vegetable oil/sunflower oil
� tsp - mustard seeds
4 - curry leaves
1 tbsp - chopped coriander leaves
salt to taste
