Benefits of eating banana
Each part of the plantain tree like the leaves, inflorescence and the core of the stem is enriched with medicinal powers. It is commonly believed in India that eating food from the banana leaf boosts appetite and taste. Moreover, it is also good for eyesight and beauty.

The core of the stem, used in curries, is good for stomach disorders, is an ideal medicine for diabetes, useful in weight reduction and very good for dissolving kidney stones.

The inflorescence is useful in purifying the urinary bladder. The fruit is used as a supplementary diet for babies as it is easy to digest, prevents worms and diarrhoea. Banana is rich in potassium and is good for the heart.
