Paneer snacks

Paneer, a rich source of calcium, helps build strong bones and teeth. It is beneficial in preventing osteoporosis. Being an animal product, it is a good source of protein. In Indian food, it is added to spicy gravies and lends a sweet softness to crunchy snacks.

Here`s how to make paneer at home by Saroj Kering

Ingredients:

Milk - 1 litre
Citric Acid or Lemon (juice) - 1/2 tsp
Water - 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Dissolve the citric acid in water.
  2. Bring milk to boil, stirring continuously.
  3. Add the acid solution gradually, while stirring.
  4. When the milk curdles fully, switch off the gas.
  5. Cover for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Drain into a muslin cloth.
  7. Hold pouch under running water.
  8. Press out excess water.
  9. Shape and place cloth under heavy weight required (stone slab) for 2-3 hours before using as required.
