Method
  1. Clean and joint the chicken. Mix with rest of the ingredients and keep aside for 1 hr-2 hrs.
  2. Place the chicken with the marinade in a wide nonstick pan. Cover and simmer till the chicken tender.
  3. Increase the flame and cook without covering till all the liquid is absorbed and oil is separated. Continue to cook stirring till the chicken is roasted.
For Gravy
  1. Heat 4 tbsp of oil or gee. Add the whole spices. Add onion paste, fry till brown .Add ginger and fry for 1 minute. Add chilli powder and green chillies.
  2. Add tomato puree and salt. Cook till oil separates.
  3. Stir in the cream. Add chicken pieces and simmer for a few minutes.( the gravy should be thick enough to coat the chicken pieces)
  4. Heat 2 tsp gee, add kasoori methi and pour over the chicken.

Chicken - 1 about 1 Kg
Lime juice - 2 tbsp
Curds - 1/2 cup
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 1/2 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp

For Gravy
Oil or ghee - 4 tbsp
Cloves - 2
Cardamoms - 2
Cinnamon - 2 pieces
Onions - 2, medium size, ground to a paste
Ginger - 2 cm, minced
Green chillies - 2-3, slit
Chilli powder - 1-2 tsp as per taste
Tomato puree - 1/2 cup
Salt - to taste
Ghee - 2 tsp
Kasoori methi - 2 tsp
Cream - 4 tbsp
