Apple pie with sour cream

For the pie dough:

  1. Sift the flour, salt, and baking powder into a mixing bowl.
  2. Make a well in the middle of the flour.
  3. Add the sugar, the butter and the egg to the well.
  4. Little by little, incorporate the flour to the butter, the sugar, and the egg.
  5. Once the dough becomes too dry, add the cream and form a ball.
  6. Knead the dough twice before using.

For the pie:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 deg F.
  2. Roll half of the dough.
  3. Place the dough in a pie plate that is 1&1/2 inch high and preferably has a removable bottom.
  4. Prick the bottom of the pie shell with a fork and brush with beaten egg.
  5. Place the apples in a mixing bowl.
  6. Add the sugar and the corn starch.
  7. Mix the ingredients well.
  8. Fill the pie shell with the apple mixture.
  9. Cook in the oven at 400 deg F for 25 to 30 mins.
  10. Place the sour cream and the eggs in a mixing bowl.
  11. Beat well with a whisk.
  12. Remove the pie from the oven after 25-30 mins. of cooking time.
  13. Pour the sour cream mixture over the apples.
  14. Replace the pie in the oven and cook for an additional 20 mins. at 350 deg F.

1/2 tsp - salt
1 tsp - baking powder
3 tbsp - sugar
3/4 cup - soft butter
1 - egg
3-4 tbsp - cream

For the pie:
5 apples, hollowed, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup - sugar
1 tbsp - corn starch
1/2 cup - sour cream
2 - eggs
