Chocolate meringue cookies
Method

Beat together egg whites, salt and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.

Add the sugar gradually beating to stiff peaks. Mix in the chocolate.

Spoon in rounded shapes on baking sheets lined with greased brown paper.

Bake in a moderate oven for 25 minutes.

Cool lightly before removing from paper.

2 egg whites
Pinch each of salt and cream of tartar
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup chopped chocolate
