Golden pea pulao

Method
  1. Heat sugar in a pressure cooker till it caramelizes.
  2. Add oil and heat. Add onions. Brown.
  3. Add rice and peas and stir fry till golden.
  4. Add salt and 5&1/2 cups hot water.
  5. Cook under pressure for 7 mins.
  6. Cool and transfer to a serving dish.
  7. Decorate with egg slices.

1&1/2 cups basmati rice, washed well
2 onions, chopped
1 tsp. sugar
1 cup tender peas
5 tbsp. oil
1 egg, hard-boiled, shelled, sliced
Salt to taste
