Method
- Sieve the flour with a pinch of salt.
- Chop the margarine and vegetable shortening and
work into the flour till crumbly.
- Gradually add a little water and knead
into a firm dough.
- Place on a lightly floured surface and knead
for another 10 mins. till smooth.
- Roll out the dough and cut into small rounds to
fit pastry cups.
- Press pastry to line the cups well.
- Beat the eggs and stir in the milk, cheese,
nutmeg, chilli power, salt and pepper.
- Pour into the lined pastry cups and bake in a
hot oven for 20 mins, till the cheese filling is
set.
- Serve warm or cold.
Ingredients:
1/2 litre - milk
250 g - flour
100 g - grated cheese
60 g - margarine
60 g - vegetable shortening
2 - eggs
1 tsp - chilli power
salt and pepper to taste
a pinch - nutmeg
