Method
  1. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water.
  2. Mix all ingredients with yeast mixture and knead for 10 minutes.
  3. Put in large greased bowl and cover with dish towel.
  4. Let rise 2 hours.
  5. Cut dough into 6 equal parts.
  6. Press lengthwise and flatten each part into a 10 x 4 inch piece.
  7. Cut each piece into 3 strips and braid.
  8. Put each braid into a greased 8 or 9 inch cake pan.
  9. Cover with dish towel and raise 2 hours.
  10. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.
  11. Watch closely as not to overbake.
  12. Can be frosted with a butter cream frosting.
Ingredients:
10 c - flour
18 - eggs
2 pkg - yeast
6 tbsp - sugar
4 sticks - butter
water as needed
pinch of salt
