Fish Rawa Fry

Method
  1. Wash the fish, drain well and pat dry with kitchen paper.
  2. Grind chilies, pepper corn, turmeric, garlic and onion to a smooth paste.
  3. (Chili powder and pepper powder may be used instead of chili and pepper corn to make grinding easier) mix with salt.
  4. Apply the paste on both sides of fish slices.
  5. Keep aside for 15-30 minutes.
  6. Coat with semolina and deep fry in moderately hot oil till golden brown.
  7. (Over cooking makes fish tough).
  8. Drain well and serve hot.
Ingredients:
fish slices (pomfret, mullet or mackerel) - � kg
dry red chilies - 6 to 8
black peppercorn - � tsp
turmeric powder - � tsp
garlic - 4 flakes
shallot (sambar onion) - 4 to 5
rawa (semolina) to coat
oil to deep fry
salt to taste
