Fish Pickle

Method
  1. Mix the chilli powder with a little vinegar and keep aside.
  2. Marinate the fish with turmeric powder and salt and keep for an hour.
  3. In a deep bottom pan pour enough oil and deep fry fish cubes well. Remove.
  4. In the same oil fry the ginger, garlic and greenchillies till it turns golden brown.
  5. Add the chilli / vinegar paste and mix well. Pour the salt water and stir.
  6. Add some more vinegar to give the gravy a medium consistency.
  7. Add curry leaves.
  8. Leave the mixture to cool and then add the fried fish cubes. Mix well.
  9. Bottle the pickle and leave to stand for a couple of days.
Ingredients:
seer fish or tuna - cut in bite sizecubes
ginger - 4-5 tbsps, finely chopped
garlic - 4- 5 tbsps, finely chopped
green chillies - 4, finely chopped
chilli powder - 4 tsps
vinegar - 150 ml
salt mixed in water
curry leaves a few
oil to fry
