French Onion Soup

Method
  1. Melt butter, add onions, thinly sliced, brown these evenly, then add the mutton stock, salt and pepper.
  2. Simmer for 15 mins.
  3. Butter lightly 6 slices of bread and cut into squares.
  4. Sprinkle grated cheese on them and grill.
  5. Pour soup into bowls and float bread squares in each.
  6. Sprinkle additional grated cheese and serve piping hot.
Ingredients:
6 cups - rich mutton stock
4 tbsp - butter
2 cups - onion
6 slices - bread
salt and pepper
grated cheese
