4 - large onions, thinly sliced

1 tbsp - poppy seeds
1 tbsp - cumin seeds
8 flakes - garlic
2� long piece - ginger
� tsp - turmeric
2 tsp - coriander seeds
1 tsp - chilli powder
salt to taste
