Red Chilli Lamb Fry

Method

  1. Clean lamb. Marinate lamb with turmeric, salt, ginger paste, garlic paste and vinegar. Marinate overnight or atleast for 2 hours.

  2. Chop onions and tomato finely.

  3. Grind cumin seeds, coriander seeds, cloves, cinnamon and elachi well.

  4. Pressure cook lamb till done.
  5. Heat 3 tablespoon oil. Add peppercorns and red chilies (break them) fry a little.

  6. Then add onions and fry till light brown.

  7. Add tomato fry for about 5 minutes. Then add the ground masala and lamb and fry till oil appears on the sides.

  8. Add about about half a cup water. Cover and cook till gravy thickens. Add a little chilli powder if you want it more spicy. You can also add about 1/4 cup of grated coconut when you add tomato. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Although this recipe has many ingredients it is very easy to make.

Ingredients:

Lamb - 2 lbs (with bones) One big Onion
2 tsp Ginger paste
2 tsp Garlic paste
6 Red Chilies
One teaspoon Cumin seeds
One teaspoon Coriander seeds
One teaspoon Peppercorns
5 Cloves
Two Elachi
One piece Cinnamon
Turmeric 1/2 teaspoon,
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons Vinegar
One big Tomato
