Parsi Fried Fish

Method

  1. Wash fish and cut into slices. If using medium size pomfrets cut each into half. Pour limejuice all over the fish and rub in the red chili powder, salt and turmeric. Leave in a cool dry place for at least 1 hr.

  2. Heat oil in a frying pal. When oil in hot add fish, a few pieces at a time. Reduce the heat and fry till underside of fish is crisp. Then turn over and fry the other side. Drain and place on a heated serving platter.

  3. In the same oil fry the capsicums and place round the fish. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and wedges of lime.

  4. To Serve: serve hot delicious with plain rice and pulses.

Ingredients:

Fish 3 whole pomfrets, app, total weight 1 1/2kg 3.3 lb
Lime Juice 2 tbsp
Red Chilli powder 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tbsp
Oil for shallow frying

For Garnishing:

Capsicum 3, cut in half
Lime 2, cut into wedges,
Coriander Leaves chopped 1 tbsp
