Crabs with Pumpkin

Method
  1. Boil the crabs and remove the meat from the shells and fry to a red colour.
  2. Grind ginger and cumin seeds to a paste.
  3. Heat 4 tbsps. oil and put in bay leaves and half tsp cumin seeds.
  4. When the seeds turn brown, add all the spices with the exception of garam masala.
  5. Mix well then put in ginger paste, salt and pumpkin.
  6. Cover tightly and cook without adding water till the pumpkin is almost done, put in the crab meat and continue cooking till the pumpkin is cooked.
  7. Pour in 2 tbsps. oil and fry till dry and turns a nice brown colour.
  8. Remove from fire and sprinkle garam masala, chillies and coriander leaves on top.
Ingredients:
500 g - peeled and cubed pumpkin
2 - medium sized crabs
1 tbsp - cumin seeds
1 - big piece ginger
3 - bay leaves
2 - green chillies, minced
1 tsp - each of garam masala and turmeric powder
salt and chilli powder to taste
handful of coriander leaves
