Prawn and Mushroom Gasi

Method
  1. Roast red chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek and pepper corns in 2 tsp of oil.
  2. Grind these with grated coconut and tamarind to a very smooth paste.
  3. Add about 1 cup of water to the ground paste and heat till boiling.
  4. Add prawns, mushrooms, salt and turmeric and simmer gently till the prawns and mushrooms are cooked.
  5. Heat 3 tbsp of oil and fry onion till golden brown.
  6. Add to the gasi and mix well.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice.
Ingredients:
prawns - � kg, peeled and de veined
button mushrooms - 200 gm
dried red chilies - 8 to 10
coriander seeds - 2 tsp
cumin seeds - 1 tsp
fenugreek - � tsp
black pepper corns - � tsp
grated coconut - 1 � cup
turmeric powder - � tsp
onion - 1 cup, chopped finely
tamarind - 2 cm round ball
oil - 3 tbsp
salt to taste
