Spinach and Cheese Pastries

Method
  1. Roll out the pastry thinly to a rectangle 50 x 40 cm.
  2. Cut into 10 cm squares.
  3. Fit the metal chopping blade and roughly chop the onions.
  4. Heat the oil in a large pan.
  5. Add the onion and fry until soft.
  6. Add the spinach and cook for 5 mins.
  7. Keep the spinach mixture to the processing bowl and process for 10 seconds.
  8. Then stir in the cheese, nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Put a tsp of filling on each pastry square.
  10. Brush the edges with water and fold over with triangles.
  11. Brush with egg and make 2 cuts in the top.
  12. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 220 degree C for 20 mins, until golden.
  13. Serve hot.
    Ingredients:
    1 packet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
    2 onions
    2 tsp oil
    1 kg fresh spinach
    227 gms cottage cheese
    1 tsp. ground nutmeg
    salt and pepper
    beaten egg to glaze
