Cocoa Fudge Cake

Method
  1. Mix together in a bowl flour, sugar, cocoa and salt. Add butter, buttermilk and vanilla essence and beat well for several minutes until all the ingredients have blended well.
  2. Break in the eggs. Beat well again for several minutes. Grease and lightly flour a baking pan and pour the mixture into it.
  3. Heat the oven to 350�F and bake for about 45 mins. While the cake is baking, prepare the Quick Fudge Frosting.
  4. Mix both the sugars and cocoa in a saucepan and stir in butter, milk and corn syrup.
  5. Place it on medium heat and bring to boil stirring constantly. Remove from heat and immerse the pan in cold water.
  6. Add the vanilla essence and stir well. When the cake is ready put it on a wire rack and cool it.
  7. Pour the fudge frost, which should be of a fairly thick consistency, and still warm, on top of the cake.
  8. Let it run down the sides. Smooth over evenly on top and around sides with a palette knife.
  9. Let is set for a few minutes.
Ingredients:
For the cake:

1 � cups flour,
1 � cups sugar,
� cup cocoa,
1 tsp. salt,
� cup butter,
1 � cups
buttermilk,
1 tsp. vanilla essence,
2 eggs.

For the frosting:
1 cup sugar,
� cup cocoa,
� cup butter,
� cup milk,
1 tbsp. corn syrup,
1 � cups castor sugar,
1 tsp. vanilla essence.
