Chicken Paprika

Method
  1. Prepare the white sauce. Boil the pasta al dente.
  2. Boil the chicken on a low flame in 2 cups water with some salt till done.
  3. Cool and shred the chicken.
  4. Lightly heat olive oil in a non-stick pan.
  5. Add the chicken pieces and saute till light brown.
  6. Add coarsely ground pepper, oregano and crushed basil leaves.
  7. Mix well. Keep aside.

For the White Sauce:

  1. Lighly heat butter in a nonstick pan. Add flour.
  2. Saute on a low flame till it is light brown in colour.
  3. Add milk and stir continuously to avoid lumps.
  4. Cook the white sauce on a medium flame till it thickens. Remove from gas.
  5. Cool for few minutes.
  6. Add salt, coarsely ground pepper and mustard powder. Mix well.

To Serve:

  1. Add the chicken pieces to the boiled pasta and mix well.
  2. Grease a baking dish. Place the pasta and chicken in it.
  3. Evenly pour white sauce on it.
  4. Add paprika and mix well.
  5. Sprinkle grated cheese on it.
  6. Top it with little paprika and bake it in a preheated oven till cheese turns golden in colour.
  7. Serve hot with cheese garlic bread.
Ingredients:
2 - chicken breasts (broiler chicken)
100 g - any wheat pasta
2 cups - white sauce
1 to 2 tbsp - olive oil (for saluting the chicken)
paprika (preferably 11/2 tbsp or as per taste)
1/2 tsp - oregano
1/2 tsp - coarsely ground pepper
4 to 6 - basil leaves (crushed)
4 to 5 cubes - cheese (grated)
salt to taste

For the White Sauce:
2 cups - milk
2 tbsp - butter
2 tbsp - flour
salt and coarsely ground pepper as per taste
pinch of mustard powder
