Orange Floats

Method

  1. Separate egg yolk and egg white

  2. Beat white till stiff

  3. in a flat sauce pan, bring to boil 3/4 cup milk and keep simmering

  4. Drop 1 tbsp egg white at a time in simmering milk

  5. Slowly spoon little milk on the top of float and cook for a minute

  6. Remove and keep aside

  7. Repeat this for remaining egg white

  8. Boil the 1/2 cup milk with the remaining of boiled milk, while adding 1 tbsp sugar

  9. Remove from fire when sugar melts, cool slightly

  10. Lightly beat the egg yolk

  11. Keep the milk vessel over the hot water pan, and add egg yolk

  12. Beat with egg beater till thick

  13. Pour the mixture in a serving bowl

  14. Chill it

  15. In a bowl, mix together orange juice, orange rind, cheese powder and 1/2 tbsp sugar

  16. Pour the orange juice mixture over chilled milk-egg mixture

  17. Sprinkle some nutmeg

  18. Garnish with mint leaves

  19. Chill before serving

Ingredients:

1 egg
3/4cup orange juice
1 cup milk
1-1/2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
1 tbsp grated cheese powder
few mint leaves for garnishing
1/4 tsp grated orange rind
