Method
  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the powders and fry for 3 mins, stirring frequently.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients (except the water and coriander leaves) stir for 2 mins, cover and cook till low heat for 30 mins. until the fish flakes off easily.
  3. It is begins to dry out before the fish is done, add a drop of water to aid the cooking.
  4. Garnish with the chopped coriander leaves before serving.

Serving suggestions: Serve with some fried chipped potatoes and salad or with daal, chappatis and rice.

Ingredients:
3 tbsp. Oil
3 tsp. coriander powder
1 tsp. cumin powder
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
Half a tsp. chilli powder
2 tsp. crushed garlic
1 tsp. grated ginger
2 whole chillies
2 tsp. tomato puree
150 gms. peeled, chopped tomatoes
6 fish steaks
2 tsp. salt or to taste
Water, if necessary
Handful of chopped coriander leaves for garnish
