Shorsher Mach (Mustard Fish)

Method
  1. Wash fish well. Cut into thin slices.
  2. Grind mustard with coconut and green chillies to asmooth paste.
  3. Mix the paste with chilli and turmeric powder, salt and oil.
  4. Apply this paste on both sides of fish slices.
  5. Place each slice of fish on a piece of banana leaf or foil and make a neat parcel.
  6. Steam the parcels for 15 to 20 inutes.
  7. Serve hot as a side dish for lunch or dinner.

Serves:3 to 4

Ingredients:
fresh water fish - 500 gm
mustard seeds - 3 tbsp
green chillies - 5 to 6
grated coconut - � cup
chilli powder - 1 tsp
turmeric powder - � tsp
oil - 1 tbsp
few pieces of banana leaves or aluminum foil
salt to taste
