Tandoori mutton sak

  1. Marinade the mutton in a mixture of all of the above ingredients, except for the oil and onion, for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  2. Heat the oil and fry the onion until dark brown, looking as though it were almost burnt and add to the marinade mixture in a large saucepan.
  3. Cover and simmer for 1 hour, until the meat is tender.
  4. Serve with naan bread and spiced rice.
800 gms. mutton
1 small carton of plain yoghurt (150 gms.)
4 tsp. crushed garlic
4 tsp. grated ginger
5 tbsp. tandoori powder
1 tsp. chilli powder
1 tbsp. oil
250 gms. peeled, chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp. tomato puree
2 tsp. coriander powder
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
1 large onion, sliced
