Prawn Biryani

Method
  1. Soak washed rice for 45 minutes.
  2. Marinate the prawns with turmeric and chilli powders and 1/2 tsp salt. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Grind together ingredients 3-10 mentioned above, adding some water to make a paste.
  4. Heat oil and saute the onion till golden brown and then add the garlic-ginger paste and stir to avoid sticking.
  5. Now add the snow peas and the masala paste.
  6. Mix and then add the prawns and mix well.
  7. Allow to cook on shallow flame.
  8. Add the rice (drained) and mix.
  9. Allow to cook as usual till all the rice grains are cooked well.
  10. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Ingredients:
500g prawns - washed and deveined
1&1/2 cup rice, washed
1 small cup snow peas
2 kashmiri chillies
1 tbsp desiccated coconut
2 cardamoms
1 inch piece cinnamon
1 large onion finely chopped
1 tsp each of turmeric and red chilli powder
1 tbsp garlic-ginger paste
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnish, washed and chopped
