Method
  1. Deep fry the onions and set aside (make birista).
  2. In a pan, place some ghee and saute the kheema, vegetables, rice and dal.
  3. Add haldi, salt, peppercorns and taj. Add water and boil.
  4. Add a little extra water so that the cooked khichri is soft and mushy.
  5. When it is done add the milk and malai and let it cook for a few minutes.
  6. Transfer to a dish.
  7. Pour a tbsp of boiling oil or ghee on top.
  8. Sprinkle with birista and serve piping hot with soup or dahi.
Ingredients:
1 cup - rice
4 tbsp - red masoor dal
1 tsp - yellow moong dal
250 gms - kheema (mutton mince)
1 carrot, peeled and chopped
1 potato, peeled and chopped
5 to 6 - french beans, chopped
1 - onion, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup - milk
2 tbsp - malai
1 small piece - cinnamon
4 tbsp - ghee
few pepper corns
a little haldi
salt to taste
