Method
  1. Soak dal in water for about 4 hours.
  2. Drain out the water and grind to a fine paste. Set aside for 4 hours.
  3. Roast semolina on a dry griddle till it starts changing colour, then mix with dal alongwith salt and soda.
  4. Add enough milk to form a thick and smooth batter. Mix in 1 tsp. ghee.
  5. Mix together cardamoms, coconut, jaggery, cashewnuts and raisins.
  6. Half fill greased karories with batter, spread on top a little coconut mixture, then cover with batter nicely and steam.
  7. Serve with hot ghee poured on the top.
Ingredients:
¾ cup - semolina (rava)
½ cup - urad dal
½ cup - finely grated coconut
4 tbsps - finely grated jaggery
a big pinch - cooking soda
a big pinch - salt
1 tsp - cardamom powder
a few - cashewnuts and raisins, sliced finely and milk
1 tsp - ghee
