Method
Soak the dal overnight and Drain.
Place the dal in a food processor.
Add the pistachio, chili, ginger paste, asafetida, aniseed and salt.
Blend till a thick paste is formed- adding water, if needed.
Fry dal mixture till it is brown.
Make a stiff dough from plain flour adding a pinch of salt and 4 tbsp oil.
Divide the dough into small balls.
Flatten each ball and stuff about 1 tsp of dal pista paste.
Roll into a disc about 3” in diameter (kachori).
Heat oil in a pan.
Fry the kachoris till golden brown.
Serve hot kachoris with potato curry, raita, hot pickle or sweet chutney.

½ cup - pistachio kernel
4 - green chilies
1” long - ginger piece
¼ tsp - asafetida
1 tsp - aniseed
½ cup - coriander leaves, chopped
oil for frying
salt to taste
