Pista Dal Kachori

Method
  1. Soak the dal overnight and Drain.
  2. Place the dal in a food processor.
  3. Add the pistachio, chili, ginger paste, asafetida, aniseed and salt.
  4. Blend till a thick paste is formed- adding water, if needed.
  5. Fry dal mixture till it is brown.
  6. Make a stiff dough from plain flour adding a pinch of salt and 4 tbsp oil.
  7. Divide the dough into small balls.
  8. Flatten each ball and stuff about 1 tsp of dal pista paste.
  9. Roll into a disc about 3” in diameter (kachori).
  10. Heat oil in a pan.
  11. Fry the kachoris till golden brown.
  12. Serve hot kachoris with potato curry, raita, hot pickle or sweet chutney.
Ingredients:
4 cups - plain flour
½ - whole mungbeans
½ cup - pistachio kernel
4 - green chilies
1” long - ginger piece
¼ tsp - asafetida
1 tsp - aniseed
½ cup - coriander leaves, chopped
oil for frying
salt to taste
