A spicy mixture of minced meat folded in a pocket of mashed potato and fried until golden brown.
250 gms. mince meat
4 tsp. crushed garlic
4 tsp. grated ginger
Salt to taste
1 tsp. garam masala
2 medium sized onions, finely chopped
Handful of chopped coriander leaves
4 green chillies, finely sliced
1 kg. potatoes, peeled, boiled and mashed
Oil for frying
Chilli powder to taste (optional)
Breadcrumbs or semolina
1.Dry cook the meat, add the garlic, ginger and salt.
2.Take off the heat, add the garam masala, onion, coriander and chillies.
3.Take a handful of mashed potato and make a â€śwellâ€ť in the middle, fill with the meat mixture and roll the cakes (i.e. slightly flattened balls).
4.Whip the eggs and add some chilli powder if wanted.
5.Dip the cakes in the egg, then coat with breadcrumbs or semolina and fry until golden brown.
6.Drain on kitchen paper towels.
