
Ingredients:
1 cup rice
2 small onions, sliced finely
1 big piece cinnamon
2 bay leaves
2 cloves
2 white cardamoms
2 peppercorns
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
Oil
Salt to taste
Method:
Soak rice for 1 hour.
Mix the sugar with 3 tbsp. water and cook on low fire till it is a rich brown in colour.
Add two cups of water to it.
Remove from fire.
Heat oil and fry the onions till golden in colour. Add the rice.
Fry for a while.
Add the brown sugar water, all the whole masalas, and salt.
Cover and cook on a very low fire till soft.
