Varied health benefits
Dates are a good source of dietary fibre. They are rich in Vitamins A and B. The sugar content in them makes them ideal energy boosting foods. They are also rich in iron and help in prevention of anaemia.

Dates can be soaked overnight and eaten to prevent constipation. Dates, however, are high in calories and can cause weight gain if eaten in large quantities.

Dates are also high in potassium and good for the heart. Though they can be eaten as it is, dates also lend themselves well to certain dishes a few of which we have listed out for you.

Dates and Roasted Gram Laddu

Ingredients:

1 cup - chopped seedless dtes
3/4 to 1 cup - roasted Bengal gram powder
1/2 cup - milk
2 tbsp - grated dry coconut

Method:
Heat the milk in a pan and add the chopped dates to it.
Cook till the milk evaporates.
Turn off the flame and allow it to cool.
Grind the dates into a paste.
Add the dalia powder and mix very well.
Make small balls out of the dates mixture and roll them in the grated coconut and serve.
