
Cabbage kootu
Ingredients:
1/4 kg - cabbage
1/2 cup - Bengal gram dal/channa dal
1 - onion (small)
1 - tomato (large)
Ginger, a small quantity
2 cloves - garlic
1 - green chilli
1 tbsp - red chilli powder
2 tbsp - coriander powder
1 tsp - turmeric powder
Asafoetida, a pinch
2 tbsp - grated coconut
Method:
1. Cut cabbage, wash Bengal gram dal and put both together in a pressure cooker along with all the ingredients like chopped onion, tomatoes, green chilli, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder, salt and asafoetida.
2. Stir well and pour required water.
3. Boil for 20 minutes, now add grated coconut and mix well.
