Love desserts? If you can`t resist your sweet tooth and are conscious of weight gain, follow these simple tips to have your cake and eat it too!
Reduce the amount of sugar you use in your halwas and puddings by a fourth. It may cause the dessert to taste strange at first but you will soon get used to the low-sugar version and benefit from the reduced calories. When you aren`t caramelizing, use sugar substitute.
Use whole grain flour
Substitute atta for maida or even multi-grain flour - it could be a blend of ragi, wheat, wheat bran and powdered oats or powdered red poha. Use your imagination and spike up the fibre content of your dessert.
