Banana Curry

Method
  1. Soak brown chana in water overnight. Cook till soft.
  2. Drain from cooking liquid and reserve.
  3. Peel and slice bananas and potato.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai. Add bay leaf and panch phoorna.
  5. After few seconds, add banana and potato slices and fry till they begin to brown.
  6. Add rest of the ingredients except garam masala and ghee.
  7. Cover and cook on low heat till vegetables are cooked.
  8. Add garam masala, mix well and remove from fire.
  9. Pour the ghee on top. (Optional)

Note:
Panch phoorna is a mixture of fennel (saunf), mustard, cumin, fenugreek and black cumin

Ingredients:
brown chana (chick peas) - ¼ cup
cooking bananas (unripe) - 2
potatoes - 2
oil - 3 tbsp
bay leaf - 1
panch phoran - ½ tsp
ginger - 1 tsp, minced
cumin powder - ½ tsp
turmeric powder - ½ tsp
chilli powder - 1tsp
green chillies - 3, slit
tomato - ½ cup, balanced, peel and chopped
sugar - 1 tsp
salt to taste
garam masala - 1 tsp
ghee - 2 tsp, optional
