Pan-Fried Bananas

  1. Grate the peel of one orange then squeeze all the oranges and the lemon or lime.
  2. Whip the cream until half thick and put in the fridge.
  3. Peel the bananas and cut in half lengthwise.
  4. Heat half the butter in a frying pan and fry the banana halves on both sides.
  5. Remove from the pan and put to one side.
  6. Heat the rest of the butter in the same pan then sprinkle in the sugar and dissolve, stirring all the time.
  7. Add the orange and lime or lemon juice and the grated orange peel and cook over a high flame for two or three minutes or until it caramelizes slightly.
  8. Put the bananas in the sauce and cook quickly.
  9. Arrange on plates and serve garnished with the whipped cream and toasted almonds.
4 - ripe bananas
cup - sugar
3 - oranges
150 ml - thick cream
50 gm - butter
1 - lime or lemon
