By : VidhyaIn 2tsps. oil fry the above in seperate batches starting off with spices and rounding it up with coconut and garlic pod, taking care that the coconut does not burn , but is light brown in colour.Now grind this with the tamarind and little water to make a thick paste.
Peel and cut raw bananas into 1 inch pieces and boil in little water using turmeric (1/2 tsp) and salt(as per requirement).
While the bananas are being cooked , in some oil splutter mustard(1tsp), urad dal (1/2 tsp), add onion (1 finely chopped), tomato (2 finely chopped), kadipatta leaves and a pinch of asafoetida powder. Fry till the tomatoes are soft.
Now add the ground masala to the above, keep stirring on low flame till the raw aroma of the masala dissappears. Now add this to the cooked raw bananas and then add water as per your consistency requirement.
Serve hot with rice.
For grinding
Fresh Coconut- 1 handful
Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
Red chillies - 5
Cinnamon stick - 1/4 inch
Clove - 1
Jeera - 1/2 tsp.
Garlic - 1 pod
