Coconut Dosa

Batter Preparation:

  1. Soak rice for 3-4 hrs.(or about 2 hrs in hot water.)

  2. Grind rice and coconut together to a very fine mixture.

  3. Add water while grinding.
  4. Make the batter considerably thin.(twice thinner than normal)

  5. Add salt.
  6. Keep it for about 1/2 hour.

Dosa Preparation:

  1. Heat the pan. Put a spoon of oil.

  2. Using a spoon pour the batter on the pan.

  3. As the batter is thin, don't press the dosa with the spoon, as we usually do. It spreads automatically.

  4. Cover the dosa for a minute or so.
  5. Using a spatula fold the dosa on the pan,and take it out onto the plate.

  6. Serve with chutney.

Tips:

  • The above batter makes 10-12 medium dosas.

  • Soak the rice early in the morning say 8.00 am,and you could make dosa by 11.00 am.
