Method
  1. Wash and soak rice for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil or fat in a pressure cooker or in a frying pan.
  3. Add bay leaf and cumin seed. Stir for a second.
  4. When cumin seed crackled add grated coconut into it.
  5. Add hot water in proportion of one is to two. (Water should be double of rice).
  6. Add crushed ginger and hing (asafoetida).
  7. Now add soaked rice and sprouted green gram and salt to taste.
  8. Cook it till rice is full done.
  9. Remove it from fire, pour ghee evenly over it.
  10. Serve hot with dohi, papad, ghee and achar.
Ingredients:
raw rice - 500gm
spourted green gram - 25gm
ginger - 1.5 inches
hing/asafoetida - 1 pinch
cumin - 1 tsp
bay leaf - 2 nos
grated coconut - 1cup
refine oil or ghee - 2 tbsp
salt to taste
