Lemon Curry (Naranga Curry)

Method
  1. Soak tamrind in water. Cut lemon into small pieces, cut green chillies.
  2. Add the tamrind water, turmeric powder, chilly powder and salt to the cut pieces and boil till the lemon is cooked.
  3. Add the jaggery piece to the boiling mixture. Heat the methi seeds and powder it.
  4. Add this powder to the the curry. Add curry leaves and boil it well. Check salt etc. and remove from fire.
  5. Take a small vessel or pan, add oil when the oil is hot add mustard seeds.
  6. Once it splutters, add this to the curry. You can use this curry with Rice / Chapati / Dosa etc.
  7. This can be preserved in the refrigerator.

ingredients - 12 - 15 lemons
tamrind - 25 gms
green chillies - 5 - 6
fenugreek seeds - few (methi seeds)
a piece of jaggery
turmeric powder - little
chilly powder - as per taste
salt to taste
curry leaves
