Lemon Poppy Seed Slices

Method
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  2. Beat in egg, milk lemon peel and extracts.
  3. Add flour and poppy seeds; mix well.
  4. Shape into two 8-in. rolls; wrap each in plastic wrap.
  5. Refrigerate for 3 hours or until firm. Unwrap and cut into 1/4-in. slice.
  6. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  8. Cool for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

3/4 cup - butter (no substitutes), softened
1 cup - sugar
1/4 cup - poppy seeds
1 - egg
1 tbsp - milk
2 tsp - finely grated lemon peel
1/2 tsp - vanilla extract
1/2 tsp - lemon extract
