Besan Ladoo (Maharashtrian Style)

  1. Lightly heat ghee in a big kadai or a heavy bottomed vessel.
  2. When the ghee melts add the besan.
  3. Roast the besan on a medium flame mixing continuously till it turns a shade slightly deeper than golden brown (it takes approximately 45 minutes).
  4. Remove from gas.
  5. Add the milk and quickly mix to avoid lumps.
  6. Add sugar, cardamom powder, raisins and mix well.
  7. Cool completely.
  8. Divide the mixture into equal portions and make small ladoos.
750 gms - besan (gram flour)
600 gms - sugar (finely ground)
500 gms - pure ghee
200 ml - hot milk
100 gms - raisins
2 tbsp - cardamom powder
