Date Churan

Method
  1. Put dates in a wide mouth jar, or pickle jar.
  2. Drizzle juice of lemons over it.
  3. Cover, keep aside.
  4. Shake jar 3-4 times a day, for 2 days.
  5. Remove, slice dates into thin slivers, discard seeds.
  6. Spread out in a large plate, or on plastic.
  7. Sun for a few hours, till excess moisture is absorbed.
  8. Run all other ingredients in a small mixer, till well blended.
  9. Sprinkle all over date slivers, blend in well with hands.
  10. Store in airtight jar.

Making time: 4 days
Makes: 250 gms. Approx
Shelflife: 2 months or more

Ingredients:
1/2 kg - hard dried dates (kharik)
15 - lemons (juice extracted and strained)
1 tsp - salt
1/2 tsp - black salt
3 tsp - sugar
1 tsp - pepper powder
