Green Mango Dal Kadi

Method
  1. Cook dal with water and turmeric till very soft(pressure cook) and mash.
  2. Heat oil in a small fry pan and fry all the ingredients from coconut to cumin till fragrant. Cool and grind to a paste.
  3. Add green mago and salt to the dal and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the ground paste and simmer for two more minutes.
  5. Serve hot with steamed rice.

Serves:6 to 8

Ingredients:
1 cup - red gram (toor) dal
2 ½ cup - water
½ cup - green mango, chopped
¼ cup - grated coconut
½ tsp - turmeric powder
6 - dry red chilies
10 to 12 cloves - garlic
½ tsp - black pepper corns
½ tsp - cumin seeds
salt to taste
1 tbsp - oil
