Rawa Milagu Pongal

  1. Place the rawa and dal in a deep nonstick pan. Heat oil in a small seasoning ladle and add cumin, pepper and asafetida.
  2. Fry for 15-20 seconds and add to the rawa. Add water and salt. Bring to a boil. Cover and leave on a low flame till the rawa and dal are cooked.
  3. Serve hot with mint or tomato chutney.
Serves 3
Ingredients:
Whole wheat rawa - 1 cup
Green gram (moong) dal - ½ cup, washed and drained
Oil - 4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp, crushed
Black pepper corns - ½ tsp, crushed
Asafoetida (hing) - a pinch
Water - 4 cups
Salt - to taste
